Hoover head football coach Don Hertler Jr. changed his prior not guilty plea to no contest. His license was suspended for 180 days, and he was also sentenced to three days in the Stark County Jail.
I have to give Hertler props for stepping up and taking responsibility for his actions the night of November 25 in downtown Canton. I think his no contest plea also served to show the kids he works with at the school that he did indeed take responsibility. I know he is only human, and as a fellow human I make more mistakes in an hour than Hertler’s made in the last year, but my prayer is that he will learn from that experience and not repeat it.
