When I was at the grocery store this past weekend, I saw a Cheetos display. On it, among other products, were this new flavor, Chile Limon. I’ve had the Flamin’ Hot flavor before and like them. I figured this new flavor was a play on that.
It is.
They add, to the Flamin’ Hot, a lime flavoring to offset some of the heat. So you get the spice without the burn. I really liked these. So if you like the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, go get a bag of the Chile Limon.
You are full of lies! these were the most awful tasting thing i’ve ever had! I tried to like them…I cracked the bag open when I was seriously starving! and I ate a few handfuls and instantly disliked them but I tried to keep eating them….eventually I had to just admit that they tasted cheap and made my stomach upset so I threw them out.
Worst Cheeto I have ever had. I can usually atleast find a cheeto decent ya know? but this one was seriously so awful.
Thanks for your opinion, Kel. I liked them, and that’s my opinion.
I found these cheetos to be awesome. They are great with beer. I do have to say that there taste is not for everyone but I love anything limon.
Too bad they took them off the market. Must have been a test product that didn’t fare too well in sales, that’s all I can figure.
Oh well…it’s not like I need to eat that sort of thing anyhow, right ?
Can someone please tell me where to buy the chili limon cheetos – they’re the only kind my son can have.
I think they may have quit making them, Rachel. Must’ve been a summer 2007 thing only. I’m disappointed myself…I really liked them. Hopefully they get the message and start making them again.
i saw them at my local 7-11
Wonder what the expiration date is/was on them. I haven’t seen them since the summer of ‘07.
Either that, or perhaps it’s a regional flavor now, and they weren’t popular here.
I saw them for the first time ever, a couple of months ago. Wal Mrt had a section of them for 3-4 weeks. I absolutely loved them and formed a mini addiction. Then, POOF gone. Haven’t seen them since. Kind of like iced molasses Grandma’s brand cookies. I love them, but can’t buy them in north eastern WA. sigh. Have you ever noticed that the flavors you like the best disappear shortly after they hook you??? lol

BTW….does anyone know if you can buy the chile limons online?
Ok guys….after doing a bit of research, I found that you can go to fritolay.com and click on “where to buy” it will bring up a list that you can choose: cheetos>crunchy>chile limon>enter zipcode this will tell you the stores within 50 miles, if any, that were shipped the cheetos in the last 30 days. They must be hit and miss regional. I live in NE WA and can’t get them anywhere, but stores all up and down the NW side of the state had them shipped last month. Also, I did a search on my home town in Central Cali ….the closest stores were 45 miles away in Colinga CA which is kind of in the middle of no where. Go figure. Hope that helps for those of you in areas that they were shipped too.

Apparently, they are only available in the southwestern United States ( found them in California and also in Texas)…and sporadically so at that. I used several east-coast and midwest zip codes on the Frito Lay website to no avail.
That’s a shame…I don’t care for the hot ones they have here now. The lime in the Chile Limon offset the pepper, offering you the pepper flavor while not burning your mouth out.
Gee hehehe….I found them for sale online in several lots of 100 or more snack bags. Maybe we should all pitch in and then divi them up? hee hee.
Yeah…and they’d go bad before we ate them.
