Deb and I went to Cleveland this morning because I decided I wanted a House of Blues T-shirt and to go for a ride. The House of Blues in Cleveland is in downtown Cleveland on Euclid Avenue. I knew that the Euclid Corridor was under construction from Public Square to the Cleveland Clinic (and closed all together at E. 55th to about E. 65th)…but I had no idea how big a mess.
The expression, “You can’t get there from here,” perfectly describes it.
The thing is, the Euclid Corridor construction right now is on the same side of the street as the downtown restaurant district and the Euclid Arcade. This impedes traffic to House of Blues, Pickwick and Frolic, and other places. Yeah, you can get there from Prospect, but that is a pain too, especially since everyone is parking there. So I parked at E. 9th and Vincent and walked down (Deb went to a nearby building and waited near the security desk since it’s a pretty good walk for her). The walk back was better, but getting to House of Blues seemed long.
So the lesson learned is…avoid the Euclid Corridor.
